Recap: Clark Chargers vs. Liberty Patriots

The Clark Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 47-35 to Liberty. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Clark in their matchups with Liberty: they've now lost six in a row.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Neder, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Ariana Brown was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.

Liberty's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daisha Peavy led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Satsuki Bradley, who scored 15 points along with six steals.

Clark's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 8-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Liberty, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Clark will head out on the road to square off against Desert Pines at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Desert Pines' defense has only allowed 26.7 points per game this season, so Clark's offense will have their work cut out for them. Liberty won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Shadow Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Shadow Ridge is ranked tenth, while Liberty is ranked sixth).
