Softball Recap: Wayne Memorial Takes a Loss

Wayne Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Churchill Chargers, falling 16-1. That's two games in a row now that the Zebras have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Wayne Memorial saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Char'Le Grant, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. Grant has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times she's played.

Wayne Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Churchill, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne Memorial will square off against Greenhills at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Zebras are facing the Gryphons at the right time seeing as the Gryphons are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Churchill, they will face off against Riverview at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
