Basketball Recap: Bertie Comes Up Short

After flying high against Tarboro last Saturday, Bertie came back down to earth. The Bertie Falcons were dealt a 56-15 defeat at the hands of the Perquimans Pirates on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost six in a row.

Bertie's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Perquimans, they pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home.

Looking ahead, Bertie will host Washington County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Perquimans, they will venture away from home to square off against Martin County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
