Softball Recap: Fairhope Find Success

Fairhope extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Austin. They had just enough and edged out the Black Bears 4-3.

Lily Guimarin tossed a big game, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits.

On the hitting side, Fairhope let Emma Stewart and Mia Gates run wild. Stewart went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Gates went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Gates has posted over her last 12 games.

Fairhope's win bumped their record up to 33-14. As for Austin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 40-20-1.

Fairhope didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-3 defeat against Auburn on the 13th. Austin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
