Basketball Recap: Douglass Academy Takes a Loss

Douglass Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 37-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Math Science & Engineering. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 494th, while Math Science & Engineering are ranked 195th).

Douglass Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Math Science & Engineering, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Douglass Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 36-34 defeat against Community Health Academy on the 13th. As for Math Science & Engineering, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Washington Heights Expeditionary at 4:30 p.m. on January 28th.
