Soccer Game Preview: Cibola vs. Gila Ridge

The Cibola Raiders will take on the Gila Ridge Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cibola comes in on three and Gila Ridge on six.

Cibola's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Valley Vista. Give the Raiders' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Gila Ridge made easy work of Kofa on Friday and carried off a 4-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 12 contests by four goals or more so far this season.

Millianie Vega and Chayton Barron scored all four of Gila Ridge's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 77 goals.

Gila Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 86 goals over those 12 games. As for Cibola, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5-1.
