Softball Recap: Meadowbrook Has No Trouble Against New Lexington

Meadowbrook lost a heartbreaker the last time they played New Lexington, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Colts put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 10-2 win on Tuesday. Considering the Colts have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Natalee Norman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits.

At the plate, Sommer Ginn was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Sichina, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Meadowbrook hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive games.

Meadowbrook's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for New Lexington, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Meadowbrook didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-1 win against Morgan on the 24th. As for New Lexington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 17-2 loss against Tri-Valley on the 24th.
