Softball Game Preview: Fulton Steamers vs. Orion Chargers

Fulton hasn't had much luck against Orion recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Steamers will host the Chargers at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Fulton's offense. They fell just short of East Dubuque by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Steamers were not able to get on the board.

Rockridge hit Orion with a nine-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chargers came up short against the Rockets, falling 13-2.

Orion saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Khloe Nelson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Fulton's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Orion, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-18.

Fulton couldn't quite finish off Orion when the teams last played back in May of 2023 and fell 8-6. Can the Steamers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
