Basketball Recap: Central's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Central won the last time they faced Southwest and things went their way on Saturday too. The Central Chargers came out on top against the Southwest Patriots by a score of 44-34. The team ran away with 40 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.

Southwest's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shakiya Dean, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janay Parker, who posted ten points.

The win was the third in a row for Central, bringing their record for this year to 17-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.7 points per game. As for Southwest, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
