Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt was the 54-30 winner over Blake when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Roosevelt Teddies were dealt a 48-13 defeat at the hands of the Blake Bears on Monday. The contest marked the Teddies' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Roosevelt's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalie Martinez, who posted two points and ten boards.

Roosevelt has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Blake, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-9.

Roosevelt has already played their next contest, a 67-11 defeat against North Community on the 21st. Blake has also already played their next game (against Mounds Park Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
