Preview: Florala Wildcats vs. Laurel Hill Hoboes
Florala is 7-1 against Laurel Hill since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Florala Wildcats will square off against the Laurel Hill Hoboes at TBD. Hopefully Florala focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
Florala unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. They lost to Pleasant Home on the road by a decisive 63-47 margin.
Despite the loss, Florala had strong showings from Rayshon Coleman, who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds, and Elijah McMeans, who scored 9 points along with 12 rebounds and 3 steals. Coleman scored a full 44.7% of Florala's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, even though Northview scored an imposing 55 points on Monday, Laurel Hill still came out on top. Laurel Hill snuck past Northview with a 61-55 win. The victory was just what Laurel Hill needed coming off of a 69-49 defeat in their prior contest.
Their wins bumped Florala to 5-3 and Pleasant Home to 7-1.
Florala took their victory against Laurel Hill in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 64-44. Will Florala repeat their success, or does Laurel Hill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
