Baseball Recap: Palisade Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Palisade never let their opponents score on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Rifle Bears as they made off with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Ascher Morby was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Ethan Bevan looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Grant Porter was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Palisade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rifle only posted an OBP of .188.

Palisade pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Rifle, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

Palisade has already played their next game, a 4-2 win against Durango on the 9th. As for Rifle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-3 loss against Coal Ridge on the 6th.
