Soccer Game Preview: Watsonville vs. King City

The Watsonville Wildcatz will face off against the King City Mustangs at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Watsonville came up short against Archbishop Mitty on Saturday, falling 7-1. While losing is never fun, the Wildcatz can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 556th, while the Monarchs are ranked 82nd).

Watsonville's goal came courtesy of Angel Castro, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, King City kept a clean sheet against Seaside two weeks ago. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 2-0.

King City's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3-2. As for Watsonville, they now have a losing record at 1-2-4.

Watsonville beat King City 3-1 in their previous meeting back in December of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for Watsonville since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
