Recap: Bell Creek Academy Panthers vs. Santa Fe Catholic Hawks
The Bell Creek Academy Panthers posted their biggest win since November 28, 2023 on Monday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 55-15 victory over Santa Fe Catholic. Bell Creek Academy pushed the score to 43-12 by the end of the third, a deficit Santa Fe Catholic had no chance of recovering from.
Bell Creek Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Christyana Allen out in front who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Allen has scored all season. Aliah Newsome was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Santa Fe Catholic struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Bell Creek Academy posted 13 assists.
The win makes it two in a row for Bell Creek Academy and bumps their season record up to 11-9. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bell Creek Academy will take on Canterbury at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Fe Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against McKeel Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully McKeel Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday.
