Basketball Recap: Velva Falls Short Against Ranked Bishop Ryan

On Friday, Velva faced Bishop Ryan in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Velva Aggies lost 71-51 to the Bishop Ryan Lions. The Aggies have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Velva's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Bishop Ryan, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Velva will welcome Glenburn at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Bishop Ryan, they will venture away from home to face off against Our Redeemer's Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Our Redeemer's Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Bishop Ryan likes a good challenge.
