Sherando is 7-2 against Liberty since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Warriors will host the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Sherando is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Sherando made easy work of Warren County and carried off a 14-1 victory. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Lilian Wray made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.
In other pitching news, Jessie Kaiser looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Madalyn Cox, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elleana Shutts, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Sherando always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren County only posted an OBP of .176.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Liberty challenged Fauquier on Tuesday. The Eagles took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost seven in a row.
Sherando pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Sherando took their victory against Liberty when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
