Softball Preview: Bonita Bearcats vs. Walnut Mustangs        
        
		
            The Bonita Bearcats will head out to  take on the Walnut Mustangs  at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bonita has four straight  wins, Walnut has eight straight  defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Bonita earned  an  11-7 victory over Claremont.

 Serenity Reyes made a big impact no matter where she played. She  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up  three earned  (and three unearned) runs off   eight  hits (and only one walk). With that strong performance,  she is now averaging an impressive 5  strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  firing off two  home runs and five  RBI while going 3-for-4. Those  five  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Koa Puppe, who  went 3-for-4 with two  runs and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Skyy Hicks, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Bonita  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least nine  hits in four consecutive  games.
 Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Walnut's offense. They came up short against  Ayala on Thursday, falling  11-0.
 Bonita's win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 17-8. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Walnut, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.
 Bonita beat Walnut 4-0  in their previous matchup  back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
