St. Charles North entered their tilt with Geneva on Saturday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Vikings.

Matt Ritchie was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ty Heimbuch, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Mason Netcel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and two doubles.

St. Charles North always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Geneva only posted an OBP of .344.

St. Charles North's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-11. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Geneva, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 22-10 record.
