Mountain Ridge fell victim to Liberty and their airtight defense  on Friday. They were beaten by the Lions 71-0. While losing is never fun, the Mountain Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Lions are ranked second).
 Amar Sutkovic threw for 58 yards  on six of 12 attempts.   Sanel Eminovic was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards.
 Among those leading the charge was   Jayden Pico, who rushed for 56 yards and one  touchdown, and also threw for 17 yards and one  TD. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  passer rating (177.1).  Marley Chancey also helped with two scores in total.
Mountain Ridge's defeat was  their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Liberty, the  victory was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain Ridge will have a little extra prep time after the  loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Boulder Creek at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 17th. The Mountain Lions will be up against the Jaguars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.17  points per  matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Liberty, they will challenge Centennial at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
