Welsh waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Rayne Wolves. For the Greyhounds, this counts as revenge for the 6-4 win the Wolves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.

Dane Iguess made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2.

Welsh's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Rayne, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-5.

Coming up, Welsh will take on Lafayette Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rayne, they and David Thibodaux will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rayne is facing David Thibodaux at the right time seeing as David Thibodaux is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
