Basketball Recap: Burlington Takes a Loss

Burlington lost a heartbreaker to Fort Madison when they met back in December of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Burlington Grayhounds fell to the Fort Madison Bloodhounds 57-51. The Grayhounds have struggled against the Bloodhounds recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Burlington's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-5. As for Fort Madison, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Burlington will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Iowa City at 2:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Fort Madison also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Washington at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
