Volleyball Recap: Sultan Turks vs. Bear Creek Grizzlies

After flying high against Orcas Island last Thursday, Sultan came back down to earth. The Sultan Turks fell just short of the Bear Creek Grizzlies by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Turks have struggled against the Grizzlies recently, as their game on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Sultan sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 21-25, 25-19, 25-27, 15-6.

Lindsey Kim had a dynamite game for Bear Creek, getting 23 digs and seven aces. Kim is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last 21 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Youyou Zhang, who had nine digs and 14 assists.

Sultan now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Bear Creek, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sultan's road trip will continue as they head out to face Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bear Creek, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Cedar Park Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
