Recap: Dolores Bears vs. Telluride Miners
The Dolores Bears lost against the Telluride Miners back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Dolores took a hard 48-29 fall against Telluride. Dolores has not had much luck with Telluride recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Mark Palate was Dolores' leading scorer, having posted 14 points.
Trayton Traweek held things down on the boards with five rebounds.
Telluride had a senior duo take command as Townes Merritt scored 21 points and Grayson Berry scored 14 points.
Dolores' defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-6. As for Telluride, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Dolores won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ridgway at 11:00 a.m. on January 13th. Ridgway is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Telluride won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Crested Butte at 12:00 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Crested Butte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 back in December of 2023.
