Hastings was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 8-5 to the Plainwell Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-7 on Thursday.

Grady Reed and Dustin Lampart stepped up to the plate in a big way. Reed scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Lampart scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Colten Denton, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Hastings' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Plainwell, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Coming up, Hastings will be playing in front of their home fans against Saranac at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plainwell, they will venture away from home to challenge Allegan at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
