West Lyon had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.9 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They walked away with a 61-49 win over the Cherokee Washington Braves. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Braves are ranked 94th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
