Football Recap: Sulphur Falls Despite Big Games from Jordan Jardneaux and Dalton Shirley + How To Watch

Sulphur extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They came up short against the Sam Houston Broncos, falling 34-14. The Golden Tors were down 27-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Sulphur had strong showings from Dalton Shirley, who threw for 170 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Jordan Jardneaux, who picked up 58 receiving yards and two TDs.

As for Sam Houston, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. They haven't had any issues with Sulphur recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

E.J. Hanney produced another solid performance rushing for 159 yards and two scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 33 receiving yards. Sam Houston also got help from Michael Calloura, who showed off his sure hands for 85 receiving yards.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sulphur will square off against Acadiana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Sam Houston, they will be playing at home against Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
