Softball Recap: New Brighton Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

New Brighton won against Freedom Area on Friday with 24 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Lions blew past the Aliquippa Quips 24-1. Considering the Lions have won six matches by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

New Brighton got a big performance out of Makenzie Krepps, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Dixie Wall, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

New Brighton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win was the third in a row for New Brighton, bringing their record up to 6-7. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Aliquippa, Freedom Area, and Freedom Area. As for the Quips, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

New Brighton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-0 loss against Shenango on the 23rd. As for Aliquippa, they will face off against Freedom Area at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Quips are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
