Volleyball Recap: East Davidson Golden Eagles vs. Wheatmore Warriors
East Davidson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wheatmore Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on September 11th.
East Davidson started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 24-26, 27-25, 25-20, 15-7.
Among those leading the charge was LaNya Townes, who had 19 digs and two assists. Those two assists gave her a new career-high.
East Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Wheatmore, their victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9.
