Baseball Recap: Council Rock North Extends Winning Streak to Three

Council Rock North came out on top against Liberty on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run first inning. The Indians' pitchers stepped up to hand the Red Devils a 12-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on three straight.

Ben Hinderberger looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Noah Furman and Preston Martin did most of the damage at the plate: Furman went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Martin went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave Martin a new career-high in RBI (two). Jude Hamilton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Council Rock North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty only posted a batting average of .125.

The win got Council Rock North back to even at 6-6-1. As for Liberty, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-9 record.

Council Rock North has already played their next matchup, a 7-3 victory against Pendleton on the 17th. As for Liberty, they will host High Point Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
