Softball Recap: Canyon Crest Academy Beats Ramona for Their Third Straight Victory

Canyon Crest Academy won against Escondido last Tuesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Canyon Crest Academy Ravens walked away with an 8-3 win over the Ramona Bulldogs. The victory was nothing new for the Ravens as they're now sitting on three straight.

Sophie Kearse was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Julia Piekarski also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Kearse wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Canyon Crest Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ramona only managed six hits.

Canyon Crest Academy now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Ramona, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7-1.

Looking ahead, Canyon Crest Academy will be playing at home against Morse at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Morse is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Ramona, they are taking a road trip to square off against Scripps Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Scripps Ranch has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
