Basketball Recap: Campolindo Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Campolindo lost to Clayton Valley Charter back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Campolindo Cougars snuck past the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles with a 42-37 win. The 42-point effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Ren Marchetti continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 14 points. Gavin Rendle was another key player, earning seven points and five rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Clayton Valley Charter had strong showings from Zion Grissom, who went 5 for 10 en route to 15 points, and Jett Tran, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 15 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Cannon Simpson, who posted three points and six rebounds.

Campolindo pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Clayton Valley Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.

Campolindo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-43 defeat against Benicia on the 30th. Clayton Valley Charter has also already played their next game, a 40-35 loss against Acalanes on the 30th.
