Basketball Recap: Mason Hall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Oconee County over Apalachee

Oconee County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Apalachee Wildcats. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Hall, who posted 15 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Harmelink, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Oconee County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Apalachee, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Oconee County and Towers will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. The Warriors will be up against the Titans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 84 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Apalachee, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Flowery Branch at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
