Volleyball Recap: Lutheran Starts off Right with Win over Timberland

Lutheran had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Timberland T-Wolves 3-0. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the T-Wolves, too.

Lutheran walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18, 25-11.

Rylan Versemann paced Lutheran's offense, picking up 11 kills. Versemann got some help from Charlie Bennett and his 24 assists. Versemann was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lutheran will face off against Christian Brothers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Timberland, they will take on Fort Zumwalt North in a tournament on Saturday.
