Shelbyville lost to Columbus North back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Golden Bears skirted past the Bull Dogs 2-1. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Golden Bears have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Gracie Crafton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. Those hits were her first of the season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Julie Garrison, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiney Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Shelbyville and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Columbus North, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Shelbyville will be taking part in a tournament against Tecumseh at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbus North, they will be playing at home against Whiteland at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
