Basketball Recap: Mckinley Turner's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Aberdeen over Havre De Grace

Aberdeen lost against Havre de Grace back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Aberdeen Eagles fell 70-60 to the Havre de Grace Warriors.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was McKinley Turner, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Turner is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dominic Hyer, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points.

Even though they lost, Aberdeen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive matches.

Aberdeen dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Havre de Grace, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8.

Aberdeen will welcome Elkton on Monday. As for Havre de Grace, they will venture away from home to face off against Winters Mill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Havre de Grace's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
