Football Recap: Pike County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Pike County was feeling good fresh off their 43-7 takedown of Geneva last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs took a 29-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Opp Bobcats on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Matthew Morgan was a one-man wrecking crew For Opp. as he rushed for 116 yards and three scores. Those 116 rushing yards gave Morgan a new career-high.

Pike County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Opp, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Pike County is taking a road trip to face off against Ashford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Opp, they will challenge Daleville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will be up against the Warhawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
