Basketball Recap: West Grand's Win Ends 16-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Grand). They strolled past the Soroco Rams with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 51-37. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rams, too.

West Grand found their leader in sophomore Sanjay Geffers, who posted 17 points. Geffers' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Soroco lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Owen Waters, who scored six points and nine boards. Brayden Dudley was another key player, going 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points and three steals.

West Grand's win ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-13. As for Soroco, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

West Grand has already played their next contest (against Vail Mountain), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Soroco has already played their next match, a 75-39 defeat against Caprock Academy on the 1st.
