While Flomaton has not struggled against T.R. Miller recently, they managed to flip the script on Friday. Flomaton won by a run and slipped past T.R. Miller 3-2. The victory was just what Flomaton needed coming off of a 7-0 defeat in their prior matchup.

Jakson Newton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Blake Macks was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Dexter Smoker, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, in what's become a running theme this season, Central gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They put the hurt on Freeport with a sharp 10-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but Central sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Justin Smarr made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 16 over six innings pitched. In other batting news, Quincy Wilson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last four games he's played. Gavin Schmidt was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Flomaton's record is now 15-12. As for Central, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1.

Flomaton skirted past Central 2-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Central's Nathan Reeves, who pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits (he also only allowed one walk). Now that he won't be playing on Monday, will it be that much easier for Flomaton to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
