Baseball Recap: Archbishop Carroll Has No Trouble Against Ransom Everglades

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Braddock, Archbishop Carroll was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Ransom Everglades Raiders get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

Not much got past ANDRES GARCIA, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Ransom Everglades off the board. The dominant performance gave GARCIA a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Archbishop Carroll let ANGELLO CHAVIANO and JONATHAN DIAZ run wild. CHAVIANO went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while DIAZ scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave DIAZ a new career-high in hits (two). NICOLAS CARRILLO was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Archbishop Carroll always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ransom Everglades only posted an OBP of .208.

Archbishop Carroll's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-4. As for Ransom Everglades, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Archbishop Carroll will host Piper at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Piper's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Archbishop Carroll's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ransom Everglades, they will be playing at home against Mater Bay Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ransom Everglades is facing Mater Bay Academy at the right time seeing as Mater Bay Academy is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
