Basketball Recap: Bayard Extends Winning Streak to Two

Bayard won the last time they faced Leyton, and Noah Manka did his part to make sure it happened again. The Bayard Tigers walked away with a 40-33 win over the Leyton Warriors on Thursday thanks in part to Manka, who went 8-for-15 en route to 18 points and five boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Connor Posey, who posted seven points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Leyton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kaleb Miller, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 24 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Calvin Borgmann, who scored ten points and five rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Bayard and bumps their season record up to 6-16. As for Leyton, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.

Bayard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-23 defeat against St. Mary's on the 3rd. Leyton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
