Baseball Game Preview: Cardinal O'Hara Lions vs. Archbishop Carroll Patriots

The Cardinal O'Hara Lions will face off against the Archbishop Carroll Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Cardinal O'Hara's last matchup with Hatboro-Horsham could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. Cardinal O'Hara came up short against Hatboro-Horsham, falling 7-1.

Cardinal O'Hara saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Vaughn, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Carroll came into Friday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Upper Darby on Friday, sneaking past 4-3.

Archbishop Carroll also got a great performance from Max Barnes as he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Archbishop Carroll let Jalyn Tidwell and Nick Gilroy run wild. Tidwell went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Gilroy scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Cardinal O'Hara now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Archbishop Carroll, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Cardinal O'Hara was able to grind out a solid win over Archbishop Carroll in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 7-3. Will Cardinal O'Hara repeat their success, or does Archbishop Carroll has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
