The biggest upset of the week belonged to South Whidbey, who took down 151st ranked South Whidbey, 18-13.
Lakewood extended the longest winning streak in 1A/2A Cascade this week by beating Cedarcrest, 55-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Lakewood's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kolby Schueller threw for 176 and two touchdowns and Brandon Stott had 125 yards receiving. On the ground Donovan Evans chipped in 132 yards. Brett Bustad helped Lakewood's passing attack out by catching one ball for 24 yards.
King's's Billy Green and Caleb Taylor have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Green has thrown for 1596 yards this season, while Taylor, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 40 catches for 748 yards. Dan Teeter's team's Evans leads the league in rushing yards with 771.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Cougars take on Granite Falls. As it stands, Lakewood is in first, while the Tigers are in sixth.
Coupeville and the Falcons played the most hotly contested game in 1A/2A Cascade this week, with Coupeville eventually emerging with a 18-13 victory.
