Basketball Game Preview: Westwood Redhawks vs. Lakewood Gators

Having just played yesterday, the Westwood Redhawks will get right back to it and host the Lakewood Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Tuesday, Westwood was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-42 to White Knoll. The Redhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Westwood saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aneya Britt posted 22 points. Britt's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Si'Niya Curry was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Lakewood played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Andrew Jackson 80-34. The Gators were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-10.

Lakewood's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Westwood, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
