Winona is a perfect 10-0 against Albert Lea since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Winhawks will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 12:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Winona has three straight wins, Albert Lea has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Winona proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Kasson-Mantorville 3-2.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Albert Lea duked it out with Mankato East on Thursday. The Tigers came up short against the Cougars, falling 7-1.

Winona pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Albert Lea, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Winona took their victory against Albert Lea when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Winhawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
