Softball Recap: Stringer Comes Up Short

Stringer lost against South Jones back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Stringer Red Devils fell 8-3 to the South Jones Braves.

Stringer saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayleigh Douglas, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Even though they lost, Stringer hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in 16 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Stringer's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for South Jones, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stringer will challenge Raleigh at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Jones, they will head out to face off against Neshoba Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
