Volleyball Recap: Crofton Takes a Loss

Crofton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Severna Park Falcons. Crofton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Severna Park apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Crofton started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 22-25, 25-11, 25-17, 16-14.

Severna Park found their leader in sophomore Frances Santiago-Cruz, who had 13 digs and three aces. Savannah Smart also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Crofton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Severna Park, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Coming up, Crofton will take on Chesapeake Science Point at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Severna Park, they will square off against McDonogh at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
