Football Game Preview: Crean Lutheran Saints vs. La Habra Highlanders

Crean Lutheran has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while La Habra has won seven straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Saints will host the Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. Crean Lutheran will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

Crean Lutheran is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to El Dorado for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-7 win. With the Saints ahead 43-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Caden Jones was his usual excellent self, throwing for 211 yards and five TDs. Those five passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Dillon Booth was Jones' top target, picking up 48 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, La Habra was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 35-30 to Huntington Beach. The game marked the Highlanders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in DJ Mitchell and Brady Edmunds. Edmunds had a great game and threw for 250 yards and three TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes. Meanwhile, Mitchell was balling out in the loss, throwing for 235 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also punching in one rushing score.

Crean Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for La Habra, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Jones and Mitchell. Jones just won't slow down this season and has thrown 19 touchdowns while averaging 287.6 passing yards per game. Mitchell has been a dominant force too and has thrown 15 touchdowns while averaging 202.9 passing yards per game.
