South Williamsport won the last time they faced Cowanesque Valley and things went their way on Friday too. The Mountaineers took their contest with ease, bagging a 54-6 win over the Indians. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Mountaineers had established a 36-point advantage.

Despite the loss, Cowanesque Valley still got an impressive performance from Kegan Lane, who rushed for 117 yards and six TDs on only 14 carries. Thanks to that big game, Lane is now up to 11 rushing touchdowns on the season.

The victory got South Williamsport back to even at 3-3. As for Cowanesque Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Williamsport will head out to face off against Sayre at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mountaineers will be up against the Redskins' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cowanesque Valley, they will venture away from home to square off against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Indians will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.8 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
