Volleyball Recap: Deseret Peak Golden Eagles vs. Murray Spartans
Deseret Peak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Murray Spartans.
Deseret Peak was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-17, 25-18.
Despite the loss, Deseret Peak saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Amelia Cannon had 25 digs and one block. Taylor Fawson was another key player, getting 20 digs.
Isabell Orgill had an outrageously good game for Murray as she had 25 digs and four aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Lee, who had eight digs and three aces.
Deseret Peak's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Murray, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Coming up, Deseret Peak will venture away from home to take on Morgan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Murray, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Uintah on the 22nd.
