Volleyball Recap: Ferndale Extends Winning Streak to Three

Ferndale extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping them up to 5-9. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Hoopa Valley Warriors. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Warriors on Saturday, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Amaya Mathews paced Ferndale's offense, picking up 11 kills. Mathews got some help from Dalia Cantu-Mendez and her 18 assists. Danica Dowd controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

As for Hoopa Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-15-1. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 6-15 Anderson and 5-9 Ferndale.

Despite the loss, Hoopa Valley still got an impressive performance from Marley Tracy, who had 15 digs.

Ferndale has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Anderson on the 20th. As for Hoopa Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 win against South Fork on the 23rd.
